Two hospitalized after shooting at downtown Tampa apartment complex

A female victim was found shot at the scene at the Metro 510 complex and a man who was shot drove himself to the hospital, police said.

TAMPA — Police are investigating after two people were shot early Tuesday at a downtown Tampa apartment complex.

Police responded to the Metro 510 apartments at 510 E Harrison St. about 3 a.m. after someone called to report hearing gunshots near the parking garage. Officers who arrived at the scene found a female victim shot. Investigators later learned that a male shooting victim drove to the hospital.

Both victims were being treated at Tampa General Hospital, police said.

Additional details have not been released.

A few hours after the shooting, officers stood at the entrance to the building’s parking garage as forensic investigators processed the scene.
