St. Pete man stole $115,000 in jewelry from Hess Fine Art, police say

A St. Petersburg man is facing a felony charge after police say he stole more than $115,000 in jewelry from Hess Fine Art over a four-year period while he worked there.

John Robert Reichold, 48, was arrested Sunday on a charge of scheme to defraud and booked at the Pinellas County jail. Bail was set at $50,000 and Reichold remained at the jail Monday afternoon.

According to an arrest report, Reichold’s job involved buying jewelry for the business. He then pawned jewelry, mostly at the Golden Nugget and Crown Diamond Jewelers in Pasco County; and once at the Gold & Diamond Source in Pinellas County, reports state.

He received more than $105,000 by pawning the jewelry, reports state.
