TAMPA — A 36-year-old man was arrested Friday night in the shooting death of another man earlier this week, according to police.

David Lee Fogg faces a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.

The incident started on Tuesday in the 3000 block of N Nebraska Avenue. Gunshots were reported at about 7:25 p.m. Witnesses told officers someone wearing a hoodie had shot a man lying on a bench near N Nebraska Avenue and E Floribraska Avenue.

Ellis Rountree, Jr., 26, was found dead on a beach after suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the face, police said.

Witnesses told officers that Fogg shot Rountree on the bench. Two people who followed Fogg after the shooting said he then fired at him as he ran from the area. Another eyewitness to the shooting also identified Fogg, police said.

Officers arrested Fogg at N Lois Avenue and W Hillsborough Avenue, but did not say how they found him. Fogg was booked into the Hillsborough County jail, where he was being held without bail.
