A Largo man is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of a woman found stabbed to death in his apartment Wednesday evening.
Largo police responded to a 911 call reporting a possible dead person just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived at an apartment in the 100 block of Third Street NW, they found Christopher Keith Gilley, 55, outside, officers said.
Inside the apartment, they found a woman dead. She had stab wounds to her upper body and neck, police said.
Police described Gilley and the woman as acquaintances, but didn’t provide additional details about how they knew one another.
Police said a witness told them Gilley had told her he had stabbed the woman, arrest reports state.
When police tried to question Gilley, he asked for a lawyer and declined to speak with them.
Police did not identify the woman because of their interpretation of Marsy’s Law, which is designed to protect crime victims.
