Tampa police arrested a man on Thursday they say is responsible for a murder in Sulphur Springs last November.
Darius Rush, 22, was arrested at a Sunoco off U.S. 41 in Riverview after his vehicle had been spotted earlier in Hernando County.
The murder occurred on Nov. 2 when a 26-year-old man was shot on the 8500 block of N. 15th Street in Sulphur Springs. The man, whose name was not released by police, was pronounced dead at Tampa General Hospital.
Rush has an arrest history that includes charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and firearm offenses, police say. He now faces one count in first-degree premeditated murder with a firearm and one count for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
An earlier version of this article stated that the murder occurred in Ybor City. It has been amended to say the correct address.
