Police investigate shooting in northeast Tampa

Officers found a man shot in the legs along the 4600 block of Troy Court, police said.

TAMPA — Police were investigating Tuesday after a man was shot in the legs in northeast Tampa.

Officers were dispatched about 5:30 a.m. to a shooting call on the 4600 block of Troy Court, according to Tampa police. They found a man with gunshot wounds to the legs.

Tampa Fire Rescue took the man to a local hospital. Police said the wounds were not life-threatening.

No other information was immediately released. The Tampa Police Department typically does not release the names of crime victims due to its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a 2018 amendment to the Florida Constitution intended to protect crime victims.

Troy Court is in the Silver Oaks Apartments complex, near the corner of East Hillsborough Avenue and 43rd Street.

Police asked anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 1 (800) 873-8477.
