Three injured in Tampa shootings Wednesday night, police say

Three men were shot along 22nd Street North and a nearby home was struck by gunfire.

TAMPA — Three men were shot and injured Wednesday night in Tampa, according to Tampa police. No arrests have been made.

The Tampa Police Department responded to a report of gunshots near the 3500 block of North 22nd Street around 9:45 p.m., according to a news release. Moments later, police received another call that someone had been shot.

At the scene, officers found a 40-year-old man shot in the leg and a 20-year-old man shot in the arm.

Later Wednesday, a 28-year-old man showed up at St. Joseph’s Hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. TPD spokesperson Eddy Durkin said the man was shot in the same incident along 22nd Street North.

The 40-year-old was transported to a nearby hospital and the 20-year-old man was treated on the scene. According to the release, a nearby home was also struck by gunfire, but no one inside was injured.

Police said the shooting doesn’t appear to be random. A number of people were in the area but no witnesses have come forward, police said.
