RIVERVIEW — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of 43-year-old man found in a Riverview apartment Saturday night.

The man, who has not been identified, was found with life-threatening injuries in an apartment near the 7800 block of Colonial Club Court about 9:30 p.m. He was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died, deputies said.

“We do not believe this was a random act of violence,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a news release. “We are asking the public to please contact us if they know anything about this ruthless incident where a man’s life was selfishly taken.”

There were no known suspects as of early Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office said. Anyone with information was asked to call 813-247-8200.
