TAMPA — The Tampa Police Department is investigating two shootings on Tuesday that may be connected.
Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 3800 block of E. Norfolk Street around 9:14 p.m. Tuesday night. They found two adult men with gunshot wounds to the upper body that were not life-threatening.
Around the same time, other officers arrived near the intersection of N. 40th Street and E. Fern Street to find an adult woman also with a gunshot wound, a news release said.
All three were transported to a nearby hospital. The woman was in serious condition, police said.
The shootings happened about a half-mile apart. Because of the close proximity and the calls coming two minutes from one another, police believe the incidents to be “related but not random,” the news release said.
It is early in the investigation, the release said, and detectives are attempting to gather evidence and witness statements.
