TARPON SPRINGS — A 59-year-old woman died Friday morning, police said, after she was hit by a car as she rode her bicycle.

The Tarpon Springs Police Department said Terry Bruillard was riding her bike in the area of North Pinellas Avenue and Wood Dove Avenue at about 5 a.m. when a light-colored, new-model Hyundai sedan struck her. The driver then continued southbound on North Pinellas Avenue without stopping.

First responders pronounced Bruillard dead at the scene, police said.

Police are still looking for the driver and car that hit her, they said Friday afternoon. They said the car has damage to its front passenger-side headlight area and that the passenger-side mirror was broken off in the collision.

Officers asked that anyone with information about the collision call the department’s traffic homicide investigators at 727-938-2849.
