One dead, another wounded in Tampa shooting

TAMPA — One man was killed by gunfire and another wounded in a Wednesday night shooting, according to Tampa Police.

Officers were sent at 6:14 p.m. to investigate a report of gunshots in the 900 block of S 22nd Street near Palmetto Beach.

There they discovered a man in his mid 40s who had died. Minutes later, police learned that another man in his mid 40s was driven in a car to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Tampa police did not release the name of either man involved in the shooting and said investigators are working to determine what happened. No other details about the incident were released.
