Bicyclist in critical condition after hit-and-run in Pinellas Park

PINELLAS PARK — A 34-year-old bicyclist from Kenneth City was critically injured when a car hit him from behind and drove away early Monday.

Dustin Kwilecki was pedaling south about 4:20 a.m. on 66th Street near 62nd Avenue when he was hit by a car believed to be a red 2006-2010 Chrysler 300 or Dodge Magnum, Pinellas Park police said.

Kwilecki suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where was listed in critical condition.

The vehicle may have damage to the front passenger corner and is missing the passenger side mirror. Anyone with information was asked to call the Pinellas Park Police Department at 727-369-7864. Those wishing to remain anonymous may contact Crime Stoppers of Pinellas County at 800-873-TIPS (8477).

The crash closed 66th Street for several hours Monday morning but it had reopened by 10 a.m.
