Police in Tarpon Springs are searching for someone who threw a kitten out of a truck on Monday afternoon, then ran the animal over, killing it.

The incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Levis Avenue.

Officers were told that the driver of a pickup truck threw the “small yellow kitten” out of the driver’s side window, then ran the kitten over.

Police said the vehicle is a “work type blue older model pick-up truck with a ladder and black and yellow totes hanging from it.”
