Troopers investigate road rage shooting on Interstate 75 in North Port

The driver of a pickup shot and struck the victim’s vehicle five times, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating what’s it’s calling a road rage shooting on Interstate 75 in North Port Friday afternoon.

Troopers say the drivers of a Dodge Ram pickup and a Ford F-150 got in a dispute with the driver of another vehicle around 3 p.m. on Friday. In the course of the dispute, the driver of the Ram pickup fired five shots at what the Highway Patrol is calling the victim’s vehicle, hitting it on the right side each time.

Both pickups left the area. No one was injured. The person whose vehicle was shot was not identified in a news release about the incident.
