ST. PETERSBURG — Police have made an arrest in the shooting of a 27-year-old man who died from his injuries Tuesday in a hsopital.
Police were called to 3110 47th Ave S around 6:38 p.m. Monday to investigate a reported shooting. They arrived to find that Logan Jay McNeil had been shot.
McNeil was taken to Bayfront Health with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said. His condition deteriorated Tuesday and he died.
Detectives were able to speak to McNeil first and information he provided led to the arrest Tuesday night of Kevon Nathaniel Turner, 26, of St. Petersburg, on a charge of second-degree murder, police said.
The two men knew each other and were meeting when the shooting occurred, police said.
Turner was on probation for a 2019 charge of marijuana possession with intent to sell. He was being held without bail at the Pinellas County Jail.
