Pasco shooting kills man, injures 11-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl

It started with a fistfight between two teen girls, and others soon joined in, sheriff’s officials said.

Three people were shot, one fatally, in the Dade City area Wednesday afternoon, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The shooting occurred about 1 p.m. in the Johns Road area of Dade City. It started with a fistfight between two teen girls, and others soon joined in, Maj. Jeffrey Peake said during a news conference Wednesday evening.

“At some point, one or more people began firing their weapon,” he said.

A 16-year-old girl, an 11-year-old boy and the boy’s father all were shot, and the boy’s father died, Peake said.
