A 60-year-old bicyclist is dead and Plant City police are looking for the driver who witnesses said hit him in a collision Friday evening.

Robert Scott Cook was riding his bicycle west on Jim Johnson Road, near Jap Tucker Road, at about 6:35 p.m. when a pickup truck struck him from behind, according to the Plant City Police Department. The driver left the scene. Cook was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses described the truck as a gray, late-model Ford F-150, police said. It may have additional damage, they said, as a witness recalled seeing the same truck hit a pole.
