The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two men who stole five guns from a gun store and range by smashing the business’s front window last week.

The crime occurred just after 5:30 a.m. Oct. 12 at Florida Firearms Academy, 13317 W Hillsborough Ave., sheriff’s officials said.

Surveillance video shows the two men smashing the window. They retrieved five rifles and shotguns during the burglary, sheriff’s officials said.

The men were not able to get full entry to the building because it had burglar bars, officials said.

After the burglary, the men ran to a waiting vehicle on Memorial Highway, officials said.

“This is a crime that creates even more criminal activity, and we want these thieves off our streets,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a news release. “Not only is their thievery a problem for the business they victimized, but this grows when the weapons they stole end up in the hands of other criminals and more crime is committed.”

Anyone with information about the crime can call the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200.
