Two fatally stabbed in Tampa, police say

Police believe the victims, both female, knew their assailant.

Tampa police on Sunday were investigating the stabbing deaths of a woman and a teen in north Tampa.

According to the police statement, officers responded shortly before 9 a.m. to the 14000 block of Riveredge Drive, just east of Interstate-75, in reference to a girl in her early teens who had been stabbled repeatedly.

When they arrived, the officers found a woman in her 30′s had also been stabbed.

The older victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The teen was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Based on the preliminary investigation, police said both victims were related to each other and known to the suspect.
