Akeim Young has been named the new principal of Hillsborough County’s Giunta Middle School and Angela Brown will take over Sligh Middle School, with both changes taking effect on Jan. 23.

The School Board approved both appointments at its meeting on Tuesday.
Young, 41, joined the district in 2021 and worked last as assistant principal at Tomlin Middle in Plant City. At Giunta, he will replace Tiatasha Brown.
Brown, 52, joined the district in 1996 and is moving over from an assistant principal’s position at Liberty Middle. She replaces Anthony Jones at Sligh.
