Investigators found a second “suspicious mail item” at Land O’ Lakes High School Wednesday afternoon, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

The discovery came a day after a similar report closed the high school Tuesday. Investigators said the substance found Tuesday was non-hazardous, and the school reopened Wednesday.

The mail was spotted Wednesday after students were dismissed for the day, police said.

“The suspicious mail item from today’s incident also contained the same non-hazardous substance as yesterday’s incident,” read a post from the agency on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Corey Dierdorff, a spokesperson for the school district, said students were not sent home, and after-school extracurricular activities, including football and band practices, went on without interruption.

The school is expected to be open Thursday, he said.
