Retired general to speak on leadership skills at usfsp

Retired Gen. Ann Dunwoody, the first female U.S. four-star general, will speak at USF St. Petersburg at 5 p.m. on April 19 in the University Student Center Ballroom. Dunwoody will discuss leadership strategies she developed and honed during a 37-year career in the U.S. Army. She recounts many of them in her book, A Higher Standard: Leadership Strategies From America's First Female Four-Star General. Dunwoody appeared at the Times Festival of Reading in October. "Gen. Dunwoody is an extraordinary leader, an inspiring role model for women and men alike," said regional chancellor Sophia Wisniewska. "It will be an honor and a pleasure to welcome her to USFSP." The event, which will conclude with a networking and book signing event, will be presented by the Kate Tiedemann College of Business in collaboration with USF Women in Leadership & Philanthropy. The event is free, but participants are asked to RSVP. To reserve your spot, visit usffdn.usf.edu/apps/rsvp.
