Hillsborough school board set for first meeting since it learned of last year's $111M deficit

The Hillsborough County School Board will meet at 3 p.m. today, the first time since Superintendent Jeff Eakins went public with news of last year's $111 million operational deficit.

Will they discuss the issue in the sunshine? We'll live-tweet.

Eakins is seeking to cut $75 million in spending, as the general fund was losing $50 million a year since 2011. He says he'll do it without affecting instruction or laying off workers.
