Communities protest Hernando water treatment plant proposal

Frances Nico, 69, protests with her Ridge Manor West neighbors against Hernando County's proposed plan to build a water treatment plant, water wells and storage tanks nearby on Friday. "There are lot of concerns regarding possible sinkholes pumping that much water from the aquifer," said Nico. "There's plenty of land around there that could be used for this water facility. Why do you have to pick a residential area?" Residents from Sherman Hills joined the protest at the Hernando County Government Center in Brooksville.
