Davie police capture giant alligator on bike trail (w/video)

Police in South Florida on Wednesday helped capture a massive alligator found on a bike trail.

The Davie police department posted video of officers helping a trapper wrangle the gator to its Facebook page, where it was described as 11 feet long and weighing 450 pounds.

The alligator was trapped in Southwest Ranches in an area close to two schools, police said. Police said the animal was considered a nuisance gator by the The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission because it had been fed by humans.
