TAMPA — A fire broke out Sunday afternoon at a Tampa recycling center, spontaneous combustion igniting piles of materials such as paper and cardboard. Tampa Fire Rescue received a call about the fire at Rock-Tenn Recycling, 5111 N. 26th St., about 3 p.m., said Fire Rescue spokesman Henry Williams. The recyclable materials, some more than a story tall, were well-involved, he said. There was no damage to the building. Williams said firefighters are expected to be on-scene well into the night to extinguish the smoldering blaze.
