First, she set a little of the money aside to buy cocaine. The rest she used to try to get someone to kill her parents.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, 17-year-old Alyssa Hatcher was arrested Tuesday after an investigation found she stole money from her parents, then used it to hire two different people to kill them.
Deputies said a witness told them Hatcher had given her friend “a lot of money” to find someone to kill her parents.
Investigators said Hatcher’s boyfriend told them he saw the girl at a “known drug house” Monday where she told him she wanted to kill her parents, according to Hatcher’s arrest report.
On social media, Hatcher’s latest Instagram post, put up Monday, featured two photos and a one-word caption.
“Ruthless,” it said.
Investigators said Hatcher stole her parents’ debit card, first pulling out about $500 and using $100 to buy cocaine, she later told deputies. A witness said she gave them the other $400 to hire someone to kill her parents. When that murder was never carried out, Hatcher took out another $900 and tried to get a second person to kill her parents, the arrest report said.
The parents were unharmed.
Hatcher was arrested and charged with criminal solicitation for murder. She was taken to Lake County Jail, then turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Authorities did not say why Hatcher tried to have her parents killed.
