A celebration of life for former Hillsborough Superintendent Earl Lennard is planned at the high school that bears his name on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m.

Dr. Lennard, who led the Hillsborough County School District from 1996 to 2005 and later served as Supervisor of Elections, passed away on Dec. 23 after a long illness. He was 77.

The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a general fund in the Riverview United Methodist Church. Plans also are underway to establish a scholarship in Dr. Lennard’s name.

Lennard High School is at 2342 Shell Point Rd E, in Ruskin.
