The Hillsborough County School District posted tentative high school graduations for July, assuming the health threat has subsided from COVID-19.

Graduations in Hillsborough happen three and four in a row, all under one roof at the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall. That adds up to thousands of students, family guests, teachers and School Board members over the course of a day.

But, hoping such gatherings will be declared safe by July, the district has booked the Expo Hall and the School Board will vote on this tentative schedule at its next meeting Tuesday.

The district says it will follow guidelines from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As a very last resort, students will take part in virtual graduations.
