In a statement, Ruth Eckerd Hall president and CEO Susan Crockett said the venues had begun to “offer exchanges without penalty," but is still “grieving the ripple effect of this crisis.”
“When the first Florida case was confirmed, we had over 25 events scheduled within a three-week period,” Crockett’s statement read. “In the absence of a health department mandate, we legally must have the artists’ consent to stop an event. It takes time for businesses to respond and reroute. We have been working furiously over the past several days to postpone as many events as possible, including eleven postponed in the last 24 hours.”
Anyone with a ticket to any postponed show is eligible for a refund, though the venue recommends ticketholders wait until a new date is announced first. If they can’t come, they exchange their ticket for a voucher or alternate show, or in some cases get a full refund.
If ticketholders simply no longer feel comfortable coming to a concert due to public health concerns, “they may receive a credit voucher to be applied for a future show if they notify us in advance of the scheduled date of performance,” reads a statement on Ruth Eckerd Hall’s website.
The venue has set up a website listing postponed shows as they are announced, along with details on ticket refunds and exchanges.
