We’ve been down this yellow brick road before.
Back in 2018, Elton John postponed his farewell tour stop in Tampa by a full year due to a last-minute illness.
Now he’s postponing his second local farewell concert by another year due to the coronavirus.
Sir Elton on Thursday announced that he’s postponing his upcoming farewell tour dates due to the coronavirus from 2020 to 2021. That includes a May 26 concert at Tampa’s Amalie Arena and a May 28 concert at Orlando’s Amway Center.
No new dates have been announced, but tickets will be honored on the new date. For more info, click here.
If you missed John’s show in November, you missed one of the best local concerts of the year, a show that felt nothing like a sad and somber farewell. Click here for our review.
This also marks one of the last May concerts in Tampa Bay to bite the dust. The one remaining holdout at this point: The Lumineers on May 22 at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre. Click here for details on that one.
