With no concrete explanation, state officials stopped releasing the list of coronavirus deaths being compiled by Florida’s medical examiners.
When that list was available in early April, the Tampa Bay Times reported that the medical examiners’ death count was 10 percent higher than the figure released by the Florida Department of Health.
The state has been withholding the medical examiner’s list since April 20. On this episode, host Allison Graves talks with Times deputy investigations editor, Kathleen McGrory, who has been covering this story with investigative reporter Rebecca Woolington.
