Dave Matthews Band postpones 2020 tour, but adds a Tampa date

America’s loss this summer is Tampa’s gain in 2021.

Almost every year, like clockwork, the Dave Matthews Band hits the road for a tour of North American amphitheaters. And almost every year, like clockwork, they come to Tampa in late July.

This year, Dave and company didn’t book a Tampa date. But when the coronavirus upended their tour plans, forcing the band to shift all their upcoming dates to 2021, they decided to rectify that.

The band has postponed all 2020 tour plans, including two in West Palm Beach, to next summer due to COVID-19. And among the new dates they’ve added into the mix is a Tampa show on July 28, presumably at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre.

“We make this decision with the health, safety and well-being of our fans, touring crew and venue staff as our priority,” the band said in a statement.

Ticket info for the new shows will be announced down the line. If you held tickets to the West Palm Beach shows, or any others that were postponed, those will be honored in 2021, or you can get refunds at point of purchase.

“We are incredibly grateful for all of our fans who come out to see us every summer and will miss seeing you all,” the band wrote. “For now, we will keep everyone in our hearts and minds until we can be together again.”
