It’s officially summer, so we’re shifting into a new season of Coronavirus in Florida that we’re calling The Lost Summer. Beyond the infection rates and the data, how are our lives changing as COVID-19 rages on?

It seems like everything is canceled in 2020, including LGBTQ Pride parades. St. Petersburg Pride drew 260,000 attendees to the city throughout the last weekend of June 2019, but the streets will be quiet this year. Listen below to hear how St. Pete Pride organizers, business owners and LGBTQ organizations are trying to make the most of Pride Month 2020.

On this latest episode, host Austin Fast talks with St. Pete Pride President Chrys Bundy, Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber President Justice Gennari and David Triplett-Rosa, Francisco Quixtan and Kevin Quixtan of the Tampa Bay Pride Band.

Looking to sign up to help paint the Tampa Unity Mural that Gennari mentions in this episode? Head over to this website to help the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber and the Downtown Tampa Partnership paint a new mural from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27.

We don’t have a set schedule for the Coronavirus in Florida podcast, but we will continue to publish more episodes. You can listen to the latest episode by clicking the “play” button in the audio player above or by downloading it on your favorite podcast platform.
