Florida’s been making national headlines as spikes in COVID-19 cases broke records last weekend. The state added nearly 9,000 cases on Friday and more than 9,500 cases on Saturday — approaching some of the peak days in New York, the state with the worst outbreak.

On this latest episode, host Austin Fast talks with Tampa Bay Times staff writer Ian Hodgson, who shares what he learned while interviewing eight public health experts for his June 28 cover story: “Florida’s coronavirus spike: 5 things to know.” Listen below to hear these epidemiologists separate coronavirus fact from fiction.
