Where to get a free, drive-up flu shot in Tampa Bay

Wednesday kicks off a string of events offered by Florida Blue and Walgreens. Each vaccination comes with a $10 gift card.

Maybe you don’t want to go to the doctor’s office or a pharmacy to get the flu shot during a pandemic. Well, you’re in luck.

Florida Blue, the state’s largest health insurance provider, has partnered with Walgreens to offer free, drive-up flu shots at locations across Tampa Bay. The first event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, and five more are scheduled through the start of December.

The vaccine is available to anyone 3 years or older, and it’s free regardless of insurance status. Plus, everyone who receives it gets a $10 Walgreens gift card while supplies last.

Participants can make an appointment at wagsoutreach.com/schedulerLanding and are encouraged to fill out vaccination forms ahead of time, though the forms will be available at event locations and those without an appointment will be seen.

It’s recommended that those who don’t make an appointment arrive after 11 a.m. Masks are required and those without them will be given one. Participants should wait in their car for a pharmacist to meet them.

More drive-up events will be held on Nov. 4, Nov. 14, Nov. 18, Dec. 5 and Dec. 9. These are the locations in Tampa Bay:
