It only took about an hour Wednesday morning for people to claim all the available coronavirus vaccine appointments at Publix stores in Pinellas and Pasco counties.

The supermarket chain opened appointments in the two counties at 6 a.m. and just after 7, its website listed them as “fully booked.” The same was true at the other 19 counties where Publix stores are offering the vaccines.

Vaccines are not available yet at Publix stores in Hillsborough, Manatee, Polk or Sarasota counties.

More Pinellas and Pasco slots will become available on Friday at 7 a.m. Appointments will begin Thursday and run through Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Publix provides the Moderna vaccine for both the required doses, according to its websites.
