Moffitt Cancer Center has named Sarabdeep “Sabi” Singh as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Singh will supervise clinical operations for the cancer center across all of Moffitt’s facilities. He is also the president of Moffitt Cancer Hospital, which is located in the center’s Magnolia campus at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
“I’m thrilled to have Sabi join the Moffitt family. His tremendous leadership and seasoned experience will be critical in propelling the cancer center to new successes,” said Dr. Patrick Hwu, president and CEO of Moffitt, in a statement.
Singh brings more than 25 years of experience in the field, according to the center, and previously worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In 2005, he organized the Office of Operations Improvement there to build a “culture of continuous improvement,” according to a statement from Moffitt.
Later, Singh became chief operating officer for Iowa’s academic medical center in 2013. He has two master’s degrees, in the areas of operations research and economics.
Moffitt Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Florida and was recently awarded a $10.2 million grant by the National Cancer Institute to develop new cures for lung cancer.
