REDINGTON SHORES — A precautionary boil water notice was issued for Redington Shores and portions of Seminole and Indian Shores on Monday night.
The notice is expected to be in place for 48 hours while samples are tested for bacteria, according to Pinellas County officials. A water main break is the cause.
The break was isolated and pressure was returned to normal. The boil notice is a precautionary measure, Pinellas County Utilities said in a news release.
All of Redington Shores and the southernmost portion of Indian Shores are included in the notice, as well as a portion of Seminole from 94th Avenue N to Park Boulevard and from 125th Street North to Oakhurst Road.
Pinellas County Utilities recommends that residents in these areas boil tap water for at least three minutes before consuming. It is still safe to shower as long as you’re careful not to accidentally drink any water.
People in the area were encouraged to drink bottled water if possible for the next two days.
