Updated: BayCare says most of its hospitals will remain open during Irma, but other facilities will adjust

The BayCare health care system, which operates 14 Tampa Bay area hospitals and hundreds of other facilities, has announced updates regarding changes in its operations during Hurricane Irma.

Here are the details as of 2:30 p.m. Saturday:

• All BayCare hospitals will remain open, except Morton Plant North Bay and Winter Haven Women's Hospital.

Patients at Morton Plant North Bay will be transferred to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater and Mease Dunedin Hospital. Patients at Winter Haven Women's Hospital and all maternity services are being transferred to Winter Haven Hospital.

HURRICANE GUIDE: Emergency information, tracking map and storm resources

• Out of concern for the ability to safely transport patients to a hospital if needed during Hurricane Irma, the freestanding Bardmoor Emergency Center at the BayCare Health Center Campus, 8839 Bryan Dairy Rd., will close at 8 a.m. Sunday. As a freestanding emergency center, the Bardmoor Emergency Center transports patients needing admission to a hospital.

• BayCare Behavioral Health has transferred patients from four facilities to inpatient hospital-based, behavioral health units.

• All elective surgeries are canceled for Monday, Sept. 11.

• Four BayCare Urgent Care locations closed Saturday due to evacuation orders. They are at: 3440 W Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Suite 100, Tampa; 3351 N McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater; 2331 Fourth St. N, St. Petersburg; and 2016 State Road 60 E, Valrico.

All BayCare outpatient surgery centers will close through Monday. They are: Bardmoor Surgery Center, Carillon Surgery Center, St. Anthony's Physicians Surgery Center and BayCare Surgery Center (Trinity).

• The BayCare fitness centers at Carillon and Palm Harbor and Cheek-Powell Fitness Center will close through Monday.

• The Winter Haven Hospital Community Blood Center will be closed through Monday.
