TAMPA — A director with the Sulphur Springs YMCA was selected to attend Thursday's celebration of childhood nutrition in Chicago with first lady Michelle Obama.

Obama was in Chicago as part of a national tour to mark the third anniversary of her "Let's Move!" initiative promoting exercise and nutrition for children.

Saima Qadree, a senior program director with the Sulphur Springs Y and director of the Embrace a Healthy Florida Initiative, was chosen by state organizers to attend.

"This special invitation speaks volumes about the work the Tampa Y is doing to promote healthier lifestyles among children and families, especially in the under-served area of Sulphur Springs, where children and families are in need of healthy environments that help them thrive," Qadree said in a statement.
