BROOKSVILLE — A New Port Richey woman died Wednesday after she crossed a median and crashed into a pickup truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

About 11:30 a.m., Cynthia Lynne Busch, 66, was heading north on Cortez Boulevard in a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer. She approached the intersection with State Road 50, which is near the Western Way Shopping Center and Mariner Square.

At the intersection, Busch crossed over the raised center median and into the southbound lanes, troopers reported.

Busch collided with the left side of a 2010 Dodge RAM, which was stopped at a red light, according to the report. Inside the Dodge, driver James Couch, 41, and passenger Staci Robinson, 34, both of Weeki Wachee, suffered minor injuries.

Responders took Busch to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, where she later died from her injuries, according to the FHP. Couch and Robinson were treated at Oak Hill Hospital.

Troopers said all three people were wearing seatbelts and that the crash was not related to alcohol.
