Crews worked Monday morning to extinguish a fully involved mobile home fire that included reports of explosions, according to Hernando County Fire Rescue.

A male occupant was able to escape the home prior to the fire department’s arrival. He was treated for respiratory distress and transported to Oak Hill Hospital in stable condition.

Unrelated to the fire, a neighbor was assessed by fire rescue personnel but did not need to be taken to a hospital.

Several explosions were reported when Fire Rescue received a 911 call that a home on the 14500 block of Dehaven Ave. in Brooksville was on fire around 10:30 a.m.

Firefighters ask that the public avoid the area while fire crews, EMS and sheriff’s officers are on scene.
