Hudson man, 72, killed after he lost control of pickup, hit tree, troopers say

SPRING HILL — A 72-year-old Hudson man died after he lost control of his pickup truck and hit a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday on Shoal Line Boulevard just south of Jewfish Drive in Spring Hill.

The man was headed south on Shoal Line when he lost control, traveled over the east shoulder of the road and hit the tree.

He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

The Highway Patrol did not identify the man because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, an amendment to the Florida Constitution.
