St. Petersburg man killed in Hernando County pedestrian crash

A 52-year-old St. Petersburg man was killed in a pedestrian crash in Hernando County early Thursday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Troopers said the man was standing or walking in the westbound lanes of State Road 50 at about 5:20 a.m. when he was hit by a westbound Dodge Durango driven by a 58-year-old woman from Ridge Manor.

The crash occurred near the intersection with Cedar Lane. The driver of the Durango was not injured, troopers said.

No other information, including the names of the people involved, was released.
