Hernando Pet of the Week for Nov. 2

Speckles is a beautiful black and tortie domestic short-haired female cat, almost a year old. She came to the Animal Services shelter with four other cats because their owner had died. Speckles has a bobbed tail and is very sweet and loving. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, tested negative for feline leukemia, and has a one-year county animal license. Inquiries about adopting Speckles or other cats and dogs can be made at Hernando County Animal Services, 19450 Oliver St., Brooksville. Visiting hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Adoption fees are $50 for adult dogs over 25 pounds, $70 for puppies and small dogs under 25 pounds, $25 for heartworm positive and senior dogs, $20 for adult cats and $40 for kittens.
