Hillsborough County woman killed in single-vehicle crash

A Riverview woman was killed Friday night when the car she was driving left the roadway and struck a utility pole, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Joyce Marie Lopez, 29, was driving a Toyota Scion east in the outside lane of State Road 60 south of Plant City just before 8:30 p.m. Friday when she lost control of the vehicle. The Scion struck a traffic sign and a culvert and went airborne, according to the Highway Patrol. The vehicle then collided with a utility pole and overturned.

Lopez died at the scene of the crash. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
