One man dies, other injured in Hillsborough shooting Saturday

One man died after being shot in Hillsborough County Saturday night, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the shooting at around 10:30 p.m. at the 6200 block of 43rd Street North, but by the time they arrived two people had left for hospitals.

One man, who deputies have not identified, went to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other went to an AdventHealth hospital in the area with non-life-threatening injuries.

The second man left the hospital but was stopped by deputies and taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Deputies say the shooting was not random. They did not specify if both the men shot at each other or if there were others involved. An investigation is ongoing.
