TAMPA — A 21-year-old Brandon man died Friday when his car crashed into a pole along Interstate 4, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man was driving west about 9 a.m. when he lost control of his sedan west of the Interstate 75 exit, troopers said. The car veered off the road and struck a roadway sign pole. The man died of his injuries at the scene.
The Highway Patrol did not release the man under its interpretation of Marsy’s law, a 2018 amendment to the Florida Constitution intended to protect crime victims.
