TAMPA — A 21-year-old man faces a murder charge after he fatally stabbed one person and critically wounded a second in South Tampa, police said.
Officers responding to a stabbing call on the 4000 block of W. Granada Street shortly after 7 p.m. found a man and a woman with multiple stab wounds, according to Tampa police.
The suspect, Anthony Kaptzan, and an eyewitness were also at the scene. Kaptzan was taken into custody.
The victims were taken to Tampa General Hospital. The man, 51, died there. The 55-year-old woman was listed in critical condition, police said.
Kaptzan was also taken to Tampa General to be treated for lacerations on his hands sustained during the stabbings, according to police. He is charged with second-degree murder and attempted second degree murder.
The Tampa Police Department does not release victim names due to its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a constitutional amendment meant to protect crime victims.
This is a developing story.
